From reciting acting lines to making appearances at red carpet events, some Hollywood celebrities are trying something new in their careers… writing books! Molly Ringwald is one of many Hollywood socialites who have decided to add “writer” to their resumes.
Unlike other celebrity “tell all” books, Ringwald is a fiction novelist. Contributing Raymond Carver and Ernest Hemingway as her inspiration. Ringwald’s book, “When It Happens to You,” is centralized around a disintegrating marriage. After hitting the stands in August, 2012, Ringwald received warm reviews. Lisa Bonos of The Washington Post even writes that she is looking forward to Ringwald’s next literary piece.
A short list of other celebrities who have tried a hand at book writing are Ethan Hawk, Jamie Lee Curtis, Madonna, Jay Leno, Jimmy Buffet, Woody Allen, and Whoopi Goldberg.
Ethan Hawk’s “The Hottest State,” is a gripping novel that takes readers through the relationship of characters William and Sarah. GoodReads even gave the book 3.5 stars. And “Today I Feel Silly & Other Moods that Make My Day,” one of Jamie Lee Curtis’ many children’s books, received 4.5 stars.
